The Ohmies – A Unique Theatrical Experience for you and your Child

“Who are the Ohmies?”

On a cold day outside, the Ohmies made us feel all warm inside!

That is what my girls said when I told them that we were going to the show. I checked the website and learned that the show used dancing and yoga to create a unique experience. I told them we would have to go and find out.

They thought it was fun to get a bag to place your shoes and belongings in. When we entered the theater, my four year old had so much to say.

“I feel like I am at the gym.”

“Where are the seats?” I explained that we would sit on the floor.
“Wow! It looks like the rainforest? It sounded like the rainforest too.

Once the show began, my four year old was giggling and my seven year old felt comfortable to dance and sing.

The characters were lovable and the made the audience members get up and have fun. Lots of learning going on too – very appropriate for the preschool crowd. How to handle emotions and act with your friends were two important topics weaved into the show.
As the characters went on their adventure to wake Mr. Sun, they taught the audience how to fly like a butterfly. Each stop added more friends and more movement. Lots of interactive moments.

My girls really enjoyed the show. When it was over, they participated in a meet and greet with the characters. Both of my girls had smiles on their faces the whole time.
I thought it was such a novel idea to incorporate yoga movement and singing and dancing.
