Peddler’s Village is an amazing shopping experience filled with events for the entire family. A day trip from NYC or a weekend excursion from NYC to Bucks County, PA is perfect for the fall or any season for that matter. In addition to finding unique items, you also get to meet great people. All the shopowners that I met were some of the nicest people and really want to get to know their customers.
My family and I were guests of Peddlers Village and were honored to stay in the Golden Plough Inn for the evening. When we arrived in the late afternoon, our first stop was Giggleberry Fair. My girls enjoyed every moment! The Grand Carousel, Giggle Discovers, and Giggleberry Mountain were defintely highlights for my two oldest.
After a brief stop back to our hotel room to freshen up, we headed over to the Cock’n Bull Restaurant. This is their flagship restaurant open since the beginning of Peddler’s Village in the early 60s. They offer classic American cuisine that is out of this world. Every bite made you feel at home.
As our evening was coming to an end, we headed back to to The Golden Plough Inn and all three girls had fun in the over sized whirlpool tub. Everyone had a restful and relaxing night. With girls asleep, we enjoyed a complimentary bottle of wine from the Chaddsford Winery. A little vacation for mom and dad too.
The next morning, we strolled through the beautifully landscaped gardens and pathways down to Sweet Lorraine’s for a scrumptious breakfast. While waiting for their meals, the girls enjoyed creating flowers with their complimentary Wikki Stix.
After breakfast, we began to visit the shops. A favorite with the girls was The Town Crier Bakery – so many yummy cupcakes to choose from. Then off to Creative Inkling for the girls to do some arts and crafts. When we finsihed, the girls were eagerly wanting to visit Village Toy and Doll Shoppe. Lots of things to play with and so many decisions to be made for each of them picking out a favorite. Periwinkle Place had gorgeous children’s fashions and my favorite – unique bows for baby and little girls.
At this point a break was needed for all. House of Coffee offered coffees from around the world and a moment to relax for mama and baby.
Now it wouldn’t be a visit to Peddler’s Village without a stop at Chaddsford Wine Shop. Offering regional wines from PA, hubby and I enjoyed a sweet flight. I was thinking, hmmm, another visit for a weekend getaway sans children would be sweet too.
At this time, it was time for me to make a mom getaway and leave all three little ladies with daddy. As an mom with three girls, I know the value of time so I knew exactly what shops I wanted to visit. Signatures by Karen Thompson, PJ’s & Jammies, Lace Silhoutte Lingerie, and Cotton Company were on my list. All of these stores offered unique items at great prices.
While I was alone, Dad took the girls to Pigadilly’s for icecream. For a treat for the ride home, the visited The Nut Kettle and Grandpa Hicks Cheese & Gourmet for soft pretzel nuts. Delish!
My final stop in Peddler’s Village was back to The Town Crier Bakery. The cupcakes were too good to leave behind and Mema & Pepa would be waiting for us when we returned home.
Peddler’s Village is defintely a place we want to return too. Throughout the seasons, there are many events to enjoy for all ages. Right now, they are holding their 32nd Annual Scarecrow Competition. I have been following @villageinsider on Twitter as she tweets all the amazing scarecrows that can be seen. People are truly creative. Future festivals and competitions include the Apple Festival, Gingerbread House Competition, Grand Illumination Celebration and Christmas Festival. I’ve been told that the holiday lights are an amazing treat to see.
We had such a wonderful time. It was our first time away as a family of 5 and it was a great bonding time for all of us. My husband kept saying “Your mother would love it. We have to bring her.” Of course, I will be reminding him of this as we pick a day to return.
A special thank to Eve Gelman for making our stay at Peddler’s Village a true delight. Learning all about the village and meeting so many wonderful people made this a great mini getaway.

I don’t think I ever stopped in, but I used to pass this when I lived/worked in PA!
It is definitely a great place to shop relax and shop some more. My girls were just asking to go back and I was looking through remembering my experience!
We loved our previous visits in this area and would love to return. We will have to visit Peddler’s Village when we go again!
