Ok so we have all made excuses for not sticking with our New Year’s resolutions. It’s too cold out, I’ll start up next Sunday. Why do diets and workouts have to start on Sundays?
You can start any routine any day you like. I was recently invited to attend a workout session at Crunch hosted by Brianne from Stroller In The City, this was the type of work out that I needed. It was jam packed for an overall body experience. This group session had members of all fitness levels. I never felt out of place since we were all new to the routine. Our instructor made sure we could follow along and gave us modified techniques to do in case we weren’t able to do exactly what she was doing.
Crunch fitness partners with Jillian Michaels by using her body shred class that are quick targeted workouts for each part of the body. It is almost like boosts of energy you get since you aren’t focusing on one area for long periods of time. At any point of time in the class if it getting too much for you just keep moving your legs or try your best to modify the routine.
After the body shred routine, it was onto Ass & Abs- areas of my body that need a good pick me up. It is amazing that the right strategic workout can affect these targeted areas. The following day I woke up and couldn’t move. I was in shock of how much this workout had done a toll on my body. This is even more of a reason for me to keep it up. Summer will be here in a few months and I want to be beach body ready.
I love their motto “Everyone looks good when they Sweat”- This means you are working your body and getting your heart rate moving. I know I certainly used muscles in my body that I didn’t know had existed. For me having a workout class that works my entire body is great I don’t have time to spend hours at the gym. Though I know that Crunch isn’t a miracle worker and that hard work and dedication will help make the changes in my body I know they are providing the best routine for me. Crunch has locations all thought out NYC and the Tri-State area. With convenient hours for classes, there is something for everyone. It is nice to find a palce where all shapes and sizes are welcome. Here are a few tips that will make you enjoy your class even more:
- Drink plenty of water before and after your workout.
- Proper stretching is key to give your muscles time to cool down after.
- It is ok if you can’t keep up. Your instructors have been doing this a lot longer than you.
- Check out all the amenities your Crunch gym has to offer, switch up your routine.
- Don’t give up, that first class was hard but it will only get better and you will be thrilled with the results.
