Who is Alexander Hamilton? I love when a Broadway show can turn almost all of the world into a history buff.
With the Tony-winning Hamilton: An American Musical setting Broadway box-office records, there’s been renewed interest in our “ten dollar Founding Father”.
In this month’s COBBLESTONE magazine, aspiring historians can learn all about Hamilton, as well as enter the “Rap Into History” Challenge, a challenge that invites kids of all ages to create an original rap or song about their favorite figure in U.S. History!
My girls will be checking out the Rap into History Challenge to see if they have what it takes to rap like Lin-Mauel Miranda.
You will have to check out the “Rap into History” Challenge from Cobblestone, the history focused magazine from Cricket Media (which also publishes magazines for kids of all ages, like Cricket, Ladybug, Spider, Muse, etc.).
Any young songwriter may enter a song about a favorite figure from U.S. history this month. Entry is free, and winners will be featured in the magazine and other media: www.rapintohistory.com
