Two score years ago, I was born. I joined other famous March 2nd birthday holders such as Dr. Seuss and Jon Bon Jovi.
See, I still feel like a kid. Before having to shovel, I used the handle to make this in the snow. I’ll be happy for the snow if it has a favorable outcome tomorrow .
Then, there are other things that come along with 40. I am either very hot or very cold. Blankets on blankets off. I’m sure it is just the beginning.
But then, I feel like I am 25 and full of fun. I’m tired, yes, but still want to have a good time.
Then, sometimes I worry too much about my girls because I love them so.
I think I find I do a lot of reflection to put everything into perspective.
Just a few days ago, I was out with my girls and my youngest said, “Why did you marry Daddy?”
I answered, “Because I love him.”
She replied, “Good, take me to where you got married. I need to see it.”
It’s conversations like these that I am grateful for.
I am also happy to have my family close by. They help in more ways than I can ever thank them for.
My mom made this card for me. She is very creative and even has a flair for poetry. My oldest finds it amazing that she can write something like this in a matter of minutes. I am hoping that she, too will have this gift like her grandmother.
With my 40th birthday here, this marks 25 birthdays that I have celebrated with my husband. Yes, we danced together at my Sweet 16 – 25 years ago. 10 years later, we were married and the rest has been a wonderful ride.
I just recently found out that I am as old as Saturday Night Live. I guess just like the show I have had my ups and downs, hilarious moments and sad rememberings. A true classic!
So, on my 40th birthday, I wish you a year filled with happiness, health and little wealth too.
Let’s end with a little Dr. Suess for you!
I am what I am! That’s a great thing to be!
If I say so myself, “Happy Birthday to Me!”
