Thank you to Arla Dofino for inviting us to the event. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have celebrated many holidays previously in my life, but a few weeks ago, I attended “National Grilled Cheese Day” celebration also known as Havarti Party! Arla Dofino cheese, the 5th largest dairy co. in the world, showcased an exclusive tasting event. All food items were displayed so beautifully- plain goudas , chipolatas, havartis, to name a few.
The special speaker was Kelsey Banfield author of The Naptime Chef: Fitting Great Food into Family Life. Ms. Banfield spoke about budget friendly recipes which children would try and then continue eating. She also said children could help prepare these recipes which I thought would be a plus at mealtime. Kelsey spoke about bringing everyday grilled cheese to a higher level by incorporating fruit and vegetables- you’re only limited by your imagination.
I’ve taken a quick sneak peek at the table of contents of her cookbook and have to say I am truly impressed! I love a cookbook with photos! And also with an estimate of preparation and cooking time.
Being at the Grilled cheese celebration gave me some wonderful ideas use in my home. I must make a grilled cheese sandwich on my grill to get those darkened slash marks which look so appealing! How about salsa with vegetables and cheese- just delicious! I’m going to add “National Grilled Cheese Day” to my calender and incorporate this event into future parties at my house.
I must say that the Arla Dorfino Gouda and Creamy Havarti were exquisite. Such wonderful taste and paired with veggies, it made a great snack with my girls.
